Dear Amelia and Alex,
Thank you for answering so quickly and so clearly. Romantic and elevated, but relaxed and fun, with about one hundred of the people you love most and five friends standing on each side: that is a wedding with real warmth in it, and it is exactly the kind of day I love to photograph.
What stayed with me most was how you described the photographs themselves. Fine art in feeling, thoughtfully composed, a little editorial, and still full of candid moments that show how the day actually felt. Those are not two different styles to me. They are the same day, seen with care, and that balance is the heart of how I work.
The lake will be a character in your gallery. Late July on the water gives us long, soft evening light, and I will build your timeline around it so the scenery that made you fall in love with the lodge is woven through your photographs and your film, not saved for a single portrait.
Getting ready in two family homes is something I have planned around many times. With more than one of us on Leica, we can cover both homes in the same hour and meet you both at the lodge for final details with nothing missed. Below you will find three ways to cover July 31, and the engagement session you mentioned, which can happen this autumn close to home or somewhere further afield, since I travel often and the destination is yours to choose. Everything is photographed and filmed by one team, so years from now the stills and the film feel like the same memory.

Why Me
Four things I bring to your day
Every frame is a decision
I shoot Leica exclusively, for both photographs and film. The composition, the timing of the shutter, the aperture, the focus: each one is my choice, made deliberately. Nothing is sprayed and sorted later.
One team, two crafts
The photographs freeze and preserve the moments. The film carries the flow of the day, the emotion, the way you two move around each other. One team captures both, side by side, with one consistent look.
Composed and candid, both
The portraits are directed with intention: light, posture, the line of a dress against the water. Everything in between is left alone. The laugh during the toast, the hug after the ceremony, your grandmother on the dance floor. Both belong in the same gallery.
Eleven years behind the camera
Eleven years of weddings in photography and film. I know what matters most in each hour of the day, and I know how to react when the light over the lake shifts before anyone else notices it has.

We prepare together
I am always available whenever you would like an opinion from the photography and film side, on anything from the dress and the flowers to where the ceremony faces. I love being involved, so please loop me into your design and planning conversations. The earlier I see the day taking shape, the better I can photograph it.
My vendor list is yours, including planners and day-of coordinators I trust. Every element in a frame matters, and each one stacks toward the final image.
During
I give you room
I value details, and I do not rush couples. A wedding of one hundred guests has its own rhythm, and my job is to move with it, not against it. I direct poses when I sense you need the help, and when a real moment is unfolding, I stay out of it and let it finish.
Everything is photographed and filmed on Leica, by every member of the team. One system, one look, no visual seams between cameras.
After
I edit everything myself
No third party ever touches your photographs or your film. Every image and every frame you have seen from me was edited by my own hands, and yours will be too.
Your gallery arrives hand selected, edited, and naturally retouched: skin that looks like skin, color that looks like the day you remember.

Shot on Leica, by intention
I photograph exclusively on Leica because of how it renders light and skin: honest color, quiet depth, images that feel made rather than taken. On a lake in late July, as the afternoon softens into a long summer evening and the water holds the last of the light, that difference shows.

A wedding day moves quickly. An engagement session is the unhurried version: time in front of the camera together before it counts, so on July 31 you already know how it feels to be photographed by me. I travel often, so the setting is yours to choose.

Up to 90 minutes with Aaron, with at least 75 photographs, hand selected, edited, and naturally retouched. Autumn is around the corner, and a fall session in the Pacific Northwest is easy to arrange before the holidays. If you would like to go further, a few places I will already be: Japan in January and again in late March, the Bay Area in February, or a snowy winter session in Leavenworth, Washington. Choose the one that feels like the two of you, and we will build the date around it.

Two planning meetings: one soon after booking to talk through the vendors you still need and the big timeline decisions, and one in the weeks before the wedding to walk through the detailed timeline together. My curated recommendations for DJ, planner or coordinator, florist, and makeup and hair artists. A timeline shaped around the lodge, the lake, and the late July light. Drone footage, wherever the city and the venue allow it. An online gallery with print release. Every photograph and every film edited personally by Aaron, never outsourced.
