A fine art eye, with documentary patience
I am Aaron Liu, a wedding photographer and filmmaker based in Seattle, photographing celebrations across the country and around the world. For eleven years I have worked where fine art meets documentary: composed, editorial images when the moment calls for them, and patience for everything in between.
My work is built around the in-between moments. A glance across the room, a parent quietly wiping away a tear, the laugh that breaks a perfect pose. I do not stage your day. I watch it closely, I anticipate it, and I am ready when it happens.
And because your florals and design are such a meaningful part of the celebration, I give them the same care. Long before the first guest arrives, the room, the tables, and every arrangement are photographed as beautifully as they were imagined.

The Craft
Shot on Leica, by intention
I chose Leica not for specifications, but for rendering. The camera disappears, and what remains is the emotion, the light, and the moment. Every frame, still and moving, is a deliberate decision, with tonal depth and true color that will look as beautiful in thirty years as it does today.

I give you room. I direct gently when it helps, then step back and let real moments unfold, so your gallery feels like the day itself rather than a series of poses.
Every detail, kept
Your florals and design are a significant investment, and they deserve to be remembered as beautifully as they looked. I photograph the ceremony space, the tables, and every arrangement with the same care as your portraits, ideally before guests arrive, while everything is untouched and the light is right.
Alongside your planner
I work closely with your planner, so every important element of the design is on our list long before the day. I love being involved throughout the preparation, and I am always happy to offer a view from the photography and film side, from where the ceremony faces to how the timeline meets the best light.
Edited by my own hand
No third party ever touches your photographs or your film. Every image is hand selected and naturally retouched by me: skin that looks like skin, color that looks like the day you remember.

A wedding day moves quickly. An engagement session is the unhurried version: time in front of the camera together before it counts, so on your wedding day you already know how it feels to be photographed by me.

Included free of charge when you reserve any collection with photography within 30 days of receiving this guide
One hour together, with at least 75 photographs, hand selected, edited, and naturally retouched. We will choose the setting and the season together, close to home or somewhere that means something to the two of you.
I travel to many cities and countries throughout the year, across the United States and to Japan, France, Iceland, and Bali. If our travel plans happen to meet, your engagement session can take place there, with no travel fee.
